Races

Q: Can I have Gnome and Human characters on the same account?
A: No. In the interest of fair play, you’ll have to create two accounts for that.

Q: Can I transfer from Gnome to Human?

A: No, so choose wisely!

Q: Can I chat with other players?

A: Yes, but only with players of your race. Humans and Gnomes speak different languages and don’t really understand each other.

Q: Can I attack other players from my race?
A: No, you can’t. But you can battle PvP with enemy players.

Q: What are the rewards for defeating enemy players?
A: Defeated enemies drop ‘scalps’, which add points to your PvP total. By accumulating scalps you can participate in special PvP quests, and receive unique PvP items.

Q: Will there be a guild or clan system?
A: Yes, clans can be registered at your race’s Town Hall.

The world

Q: Are there large towns and settlements?
A: At the moment, no, but there will be soon. Currently, there are numerous villages dotted about the Teknomagic world. The villages are home to many interesting NPCs and buildings that can be entered and explored. A world map for easier travel is also available.

Q: Besides wandering around the world fighting, what else can I do?
A: Once your character reaches Level 5, you will be able to do many more things: in-depth questing, Coliseum and Arena fights, monster hunting, crafting, joining a clan and much more besides.

Q: How do I get quests?
A: Quests in the Teknomagic world are usually given by NPCs.

Q: Is there an in-game mail system?
A: Yes, players of the same race can send each other letters and attachments, such as money and items. When sending money, there is a small tax due. Access to the mail system comes upon reaching character Level 5.

Q: Is the game world divided into ‘zones’ for players of different levels?
A: No, the world of Teknomagic is one large, seamless world. However, new players will be able to hone their skills against low-level monsters in the early stages of the game.

Combat

Q: What’s the PvP combat like?
A: This is one of the unique features of Teknomagic. Whilst the majority of MMORPGs use standard mechanics, Teknomagic’s combat plays out on a special 6x6 grid of skulls and gems (below).

The goal here is to create 3 or more of the same gems in vertical or horizontal rows. Strings of 4, 5 or 6 in a row earn you more points, while skull combinations deal damage to your opponent. The gem combinations also power your spell libraries.

Q: Can more than two people fight at once?
A: Yes, 2v1 battles are also possible. Obviously, to win you must defeat both your opponents, but you can’t really choose who’s going to go first!

Q: What about experience?
A: You gain experience at the end of combat, based on your opponents’ levels, the number of enemies killed, and how much damage you took. Note that fighting opponents of levels much lower than your own will not gain you experience.

Q: What if I want to gain more experience, what can I do?
A: There are special potions that boost the experience you receive, but they must be bought using Crystals. Silver potions give you +20% experience, Gold potions give +50%, and Platinum potions +100%. Be careful though, their effect will eventually wear off!

Q: Do monsters also drop loot?
A: Yes, monsters drop various items.

Q: Are there spells as well?
A: Yes, sure. Spells can be crafted by players or purchased in–game, and each race has its own unique library of magic. Spells can be learnt from Level 3 onwards.

Q: Can I vary the spells I use?
A: Yes, by re-distributing your Mage Points you can change which spells you’re going to use next.

The Marketplace and Crafting

Q: Is there a marketplace?
A: Yes, each race has its own marketplace where players can buy, sell and trade items.

Q: How do I get items?
A: By completing quests or buying them from player shops, or by killing monsters and named monsters in the Coliseum and Arena,

Q: Are there any items that offer stat or skill bonuses?
A: Yes sure, there are many that offer bonuses to your health, initiative, counter-attack skill, blocking, fury, aiming, stun power and armour. You’ll learn all about these abilities in the game.

Q: Can I repair my items?
A: Yes. Repair costs are related to the item’s base quality. Damaged items, such as weapons and armour for instance, are less effective.

Q: Are there potions?
A: Yes, there are many potions you can use in and out of battle to help you in your adventures.

Q: What are the ‘medals’ in Teknomagic?
A: Medals are special prizes achieved in battle. There are five kinds of medals: ‘Scalp’ medals, ‘Spell’ medals, ‘Ammo’ medals, ‘Value’ medals and ‘Ability’ medals.

Q: What’s this about ammunition?
A: These are specific types of elixirs and scrolls that can be used during combat. You can find them in shops, and they can also be created by alchemists.

Q: What is the ‘Value’ stat in Teknomagic?
A: ‘Value’ is used to measure your PvP abilities in the Arena. By increasing your Values, you can reach new PvP ranks.

Q: What’s the crafting system like?
A: At the moment there are 2 professions, but we’ll be implementing new ones soon.
The two available at launch are Alchemist, and Rune Master. Blacksmith is next in the pipeline.
Alchemists create elixirs, and Rune Masters create Runes which can add permanent bonuses to items. Choose carefully though, as you can only follow one profession at a time.
Re-training to another profession is possible, although you’ll lose all your points in your current profession.
